Laser supported cooling system manufacturing in mould production

Objective

Over the long period of mould production, the designers and producers of moulds, as well as molders, are trying to use different technologies for achieving the optimal product quality. Only the integration of modern CAE technologies, rapid prototyping and rapid tooling technologies into the real mould production can solve more and more demanding problems. The project will do the research of the implementation of fully integrated 3D cooling system in the mould, which will have the same distance form, the mould surface to the cooling line, since the conventional cooling lines are described as 2D lines. In case of 2D lines, the temperature field in the mould cavity is not uniform, what cause unpredictable deformation of the plastic part after ejection. With the help of this project, the molders, as the indirect end users, will have the opportunity to produce much safer products and the production will be increased as well. The mould makers, as direct end user of this technology, will be able to integrate sophisticate technology into the mould production and become more competitive in the world market.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
