Objective

G7-HEALTH CARDS studies the role of data cards in healthcare and their impact in the organisation of healthcare delivery systems. Issues include privacy and security aspects, the interaction of cards with telematics networks, the harmonisation of data sets and the interoperability of services through all-round compliance with international standards. The ultimate aim is to demonstrate the feasibility of piloting an international emergency card carrying all data essential for emergency intervention, and an international professional card to identify healthcare professionals when accessing medical data and network services.
