Global information system for the fight against counterfeiting

Objective

The project consists in creating a tool for the access to reliable and up-to-dated information in the domain of the Intellectual Property Right, Counterfeiting and Technical Protection. All the information will be extracted from existing public or private databases. This infrastructure will be the support for a European network of single points of contact (or "Euroguichets"). Three kinds of users are targeted:
1. The industry: the platform will provide access to Research Institutes or Companies dealing with authentication methods. Right Holders will be able to present their needs and obtain different industrial responses. On the reverse, Companies dealing with authentication will be able to faster disseminate the results of their works in this domain.
2. The Enforcement Agencies: the platform will provide them with personal data on defrauders whose names are stored in private or public databases.
3. The Consumers (but also judges, prosecutors, inventors, students...): the platform will deliver information about Intellectual Property Rights, Counterfeiting and its harmfulness, legal procedures of registrations and Courts decisions.

At the end of the project, the service will be managed by a Services Operator.
