ITS and Mobility Applications using Galileo in Europe

Objective

The filMAGEfl proposal goal is to assess expected added value of Galileo to key ITS applications, through pilots on tolling, bus fleet management and traffic information in four European cities. Objectives include: -Demonstrate potential improvement in positioning performance of Galileo space and local elements in urban areas -Devise/adapt technical solutions for simulation and measurement of Galileo performance advantages, based on available EGNOS testbeds -Devise substitutes/prototypes for Galileo local elements, e.g. pseudolites, EGNOS re-transmission and cellular network techniques -Set up urban pilot trials of key road transport applications -Assess potential impacts and benefits of Galileo advantages for pilot users.

The key objective is to develop a plan to implement efficient marginal pricing in transport, including externalities and covering all transport modes without distorting competition.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)
