Objective
BEAM II pursues EU research in telematics for biomedical professionals involved in the distribution, use and follow-up of medical devices. Its main aims are to extend the already developed application, by creating, validating, and commissioning BEAM services over the European information highway, and to prepare BEAM tools for the market. The project will bring developments into the area of field applications, while creating generic applications readily adaptable to individual hospital requirements. It will provide the platform for a new approach to biomedical technology management, based on compliance with EU regulations and standards.
