Objective MEDICO is developing applications to break down financial, geographical and language barriers to continuing medical education in Europe. The central aim is the rapid widespread adoption of good practice through telematics-based education and training programmes, initially in the area of cancer treatment. Programme content relevant to clinical practice is seen as essential to the adoption of new technologies. Results will be widely collected and disseminated by means of ATM, ISDN, interactive satellite TV, CD-ROM, disk-based learning packages and established on-line services whose inter-operability will be investigated.
