Heidelberg 2000: Field theories on the light-cone and Hadron Phenomenology

Objective

The goal of HD 2000 is to facilitate the presentation and discussion of new methods in theoretical physics, specific to light-cone quantisation and their confrontation with other more established treatments of nuclear and particle physics. The event is organised in the framework of an established bi-annual international series on light-cone quantisation. This series originated in Heidelberg in 1991, and has now grown with the progress and interest in the field. Hd 2000 presents an opportunity, through invited talks, topical presentations and informal discussion, to objectively assess the recent progress and highlight directions for future work in a field on the brink of major scientific applications. It will involve not only senior scientists who have pioneered the field, but younger ones who are now taking up the challenge, and senior scientists from closely related field who will provide context for their work.
