Objective
By organising three Euro-conferences the Eco-Management Accounting Network (EMAN) would continue the further development of a new discipline. These conferences would bring together researchers, consultants, business people and policy advisors who work in the field of eco-management accounting and related areas. The distinguishing characteristic of this field is that it brings together two areas that, both within academia and within business, have traditionally been distinct: management accounting (represented by financial controllers and financial managers) and environmental management (represented by managers responsible for achieving environmental objectives within firms).
