10th International Stirling Machine Conference 2001

Objective

The high efficiency, the possibility to use any kind of fuel and the low emission working method of the Stirling are unequivocal advantages. In view of the sustainable and considerate energy policy the importance and the industrial significance of the Stirling Machine is still growing. The International Stirling Machine Conferences as the premier gathering in this technology field are held once every two years and offer a strongly multidisciplinary forum for the international community. The 10th International Stirling Machine Conference provides a key forum for dissemination of leading edge technologies and includes a presentation of state-of -the-art technology and research results from industry and sciences. It aims to stimulate contact between specialists active in academic research and industrial development in all areas of Stirling Machine technologies and to promote scientific exchange within the European Community and between Europe and other parts of the world.

In support of an enhanced industrial involvement it promotes topics of future industrial and ecological relevance. Therefore the Stirling 2001 is an excellent opportunity for young researchers such as graduate, doctoral and post-doctoral students to present their scientific work to an international audience, to learn about state-of-the-art topics and to engage into discussions with highly reputed researchers from academic and industry. Female researchers are especially encouraged to participate by the organisers. The conference gives existing European R&D consortia and networks the opportunity to present their achievements and promotes the creation of new European networks of related scientist. This makes Europe an attractive location for research and supports the involvement of young researchers.
