Etox10

Objective

The aim of this project is to organize a European Workshop devoted to the comprehension of the mechanisms underlying the activities of bacterial protein toxins that are main virulence factors in bacterial associated-diseases. The workshop organized in 2001 is the 10th edition of a series of workshops organized on that topic every two years. The questions that will be addressed in this workshop are closely related to challenges that we will have to face in the near future: the high cost of infectious diseases both in terms in mortality and public health and the need for alternative strategies of treatment because of the rapid increase of of multi drugs resistant bacterial strains.

This meeting will bring together scientists working in different fields (from biophysics to cell biology) of fundamental research with scientists working in industry and in international health organization. The structure of this meeting is intended to create many fruitful interfaces between leading scientists and young researchers. The main area that will be covered at this meeting are as follows: Regulation and Genomics, Rafts and Receptors, Structure-Function of Toxins, Cell Biology of Toxins, New issues and Applications of Toxins, Complex delivery systems.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
