International Conference on Database Theory

Objective

ICDT is the only European forum where the international community of researchers in the area of the principles of database systems is brought together.
In our information society, the importance of efficient management of data by software systems is ever- growing. Existing techniques for the implementation of database systems must be extended to be able to deal with new kinds of data (the management of Web data, for example). Conversely, techniques have to be developed to be able to do more with existing data (data mining and knowledge discovery, for example).
The goals of database theory research are to provide theoretical foundations to the field of database systems; to formalise the fundamental issues and solve them on a conceptual level; and to indicate and establish links between the field of database systems and other fields of computer science and mathematics (such as formal logic, algorithms and complexity, software engineering and artificial, intelligence).
The conference will present the results of new research and will discuss the challenges still to be solved. The concrete program will consist of presentations of submitted papers, as well as posters, selected by an international Programme Committee, augmented with talks by prominent speakers invited by the Programme Committee.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
