Objective
The 3rd European Biophysics Congress brings together biophysicists from all European countries. It covers all fields of Biophysics from molecular processes to cellular physiology and medical physics. Aspects of material science as well as of biological function are considered with reference to application in technology and medicine. Invited speakers are mainly from Europe. But also top scientists from the United States and Japan are invited to guarantee optimal exchange of ideas. The activity of the congress is highlighted by the titles of the 16 symposia in the area of Molecular Biophysics (Single Molecule Optics, Atomic Force Probing, Assisted Protein Folding, Protein Dynamics), in the area of Molecular Machines (Ion Channels, Ion Purnps & Transporters, Proton Transfer, Molecular Motors) in Cellular Biophysics (Lipid Bilayer, Cell Adhesion, Reception & Transduction, Biochips) and in Neurophysics (synapses, Neuronal Nets, Hearing, Medical Imaging).

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
