EPS-27 Conference on Controlled Fusion and Plasma Physics

Objective

The conference is the 27-th of the European Physical Society Conference on Controlled Fusion and Plasma Physics held annually, traditionally focusing on magnetic confinement fusion plasma physics. In year 2000 the international programme committee, in agreement with the EPS Plasma Physics Division, intends to widen the scope of the meeting and bring together researchers from all fields of plasma physics, including magnetic and inertial confinement fusion, astrophysical and low temperature plasma physics and industrial applications as well.
By building links and exchanging ideas between various disciplines in science and industry the conference intends both to strengthen the world leading position of European fusion plasma physics research and contribute to the improvement of competitiveness of European industry.
The international programme committee has selected invited speakers in a balanced way to appropriately represent all fields in plasma physics thus give the possibility to specialists to gain a general overview. The conference program includes 31 invited review and tutorial talks and presumably 500 posters and about 10 oral presentations delivered during the 5 days of the conference. All talks are organized in one session thus interested participants can listen to all lectures. Poster sessions and evening ad hoc meetings will provide the opportunity for personal discussions.
Invited papers will be published in a special edition of the European journal "Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion". 4-page contributed papers will have to be submitted electronically and will be published as a conference CD-ROM in the series of Europhysics Conference Abstracts. Both the book of invited papers and the CD-ROM conference proceedings will be sent to all participants. Although the conference has a strong European character, many researchers from the rest of the world (especially the US and Japan) are also expected to participate.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
