Objective
The 19th European Conference on Surface Science (Ecoss 19) will cover the whole range of surface science. The scientific programme will deal with both fundamental and applied aspects of the physics and chemistry of surfaces and interfaces. Contributions from emerging areas related to Surface and Interface Science will be included. Following topics will be covered: Absorbate Dynamics, Diffusion and Growth, Magnetic Interfaces, Nanometer Scale Science, Nanotribology, Biomaterial Interfaces, Interfaces, Small Particles and Clusters, Surface Geometric and Electronic Structure, Surface/Interface Microscopy, Surface/Interface Spectroscopy, Surface Phase Transitions and Thermodynamics, Surface Reactions. The conference will consist of invited and contributed papers during plenary, oral and poster sessions. The conference intends to put together the most recent advances in the field around the world. Surface Science is crucial in the development of the modern technology in fields like microelectronics, superconductivity, storage devices, displays, medical implants, etc. This is one of the reasons why is of crucial importance to have a conference like this one, that allows groups from all Europe put together their knowledge. Other important aspect of this conference is that allows the interaction between the research groups and companies with high interest in research and development.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
