Objective
The conference "Molecular pharmacology: Towards new diagnostic and therapeutic concepts" plans to bring together the key actors in the main fields of molecular pharmacology to give a comprehensive survey of the current state-of-the-art in order to evaluate the huge challenges expected in the coming years. Scientists from different disciplines will present an overview over the latest trends in molecular pharmacology to gather valuable new insights into the relations between the different aspects of the field and to emphasise the necessity for extensive collaboration. A successful modern drug design requires the integration of the new developments in strictly molecular areas with fields, which aim at a more integrated view of biological processes. Bringing together experts from Europe and overseas, the conference provides an ideal basis for discussions of current and future developments and facilitating interactions between related scientific fields. It is also focused on the interplay between basic pharmacological research at university and drug development in the pharmaceutical industry to facilitate the translation of basic research results to utilizable products / drugs.
