Objective
EAGER2001 brings together about 100 mostly European researchers in algebraic geometry and related fields including about 35-40 young researchers. Invited keynote speakers, who are leaders in their field, will give overview lectures and tutorials on ideas, techniques, and results at the cutting-edge of important new developments in algebraic geometry with particular emphasis on the connections between algebraic geometry, symplectic geometry and theoretical physics. The tutorials aim in particular at young researchers and give more details than the other lectures. In addition, we call for abstracts of established, young researchers, and our program committee will select further speakers from among those answering the call. The schedule leaves enough room for junior-to-junior, junior-to-senior, and senior-to-senior discussions.
