Multiscale dynamics in soft matter and biophysics

Objective

The aim of the school is to teach some selected problems in biophysics together with physical concepts which are of central importance in biology. These include, models of cell adhesion and migration, statics and dynamics of soft matter, complex fluids, dynamics of cytoskeletton and patterns and instabilities in chemistry and biochemistry. The objective is to bring together neighbouring communities and address questions on how to describe in an effective manner problems ranging over a wide spectrum of length and time scales, and whether there is relevant physics emerging from biology.
