Innovative strengthening techniques of rc structures with advanced composites

Objective

The proposed project aims to transfer the knowledge of the applicant in the field of advanced polymeric (FRP) composites to the host research group. The applicant is a leader in composites applications in construction and an expert in analysis and performance of fibrous composites, joining composites, sandwich and hybrid structures, analysis and design of lightweight structural members, safety of civil engineering structures. These skills will be invaluable to the host team, since their expertise is essentially in concrete and structural engineering. The applicant will be directly involved in the main research activities of the host group including:
1) Giving a series of Seminars on the fundamentals of composites materials with an emphasis on materials used in the construction industry.
2) Development of constitutive models for concrete confined with FRP
3) Development of models and innovative solutions for the delamination process
4) Developing design guidelines for FRP RC structures
5) Participation in the international activities (fib, EU TMR project ConFibreCrete, EU IP)
6) Participation in national network activities (CoSACNet, NGCC)

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
