Objective
Marie Curie Postgraduate Training Fellowships in the Catalysis of Organic Reactions are available in association with Dr. John M. Brown, Dyson Perrins Laboratory, and Oxford University. Applicants should be non-UK nationals of EU Member or Associated States (or non EU nationals who have been residing for at least 5 years in the Community). The successful candidates will spend a period of leave of between 3 and 12 months (preferably 6 months or longer) from their main Ph.D. studies to gain specific training in an area of catalysis allied to organic synthesis. The purpose of the Fellowship is to develop and extend the professional capabilities of the visitor by providing a complementary experience. Projects will be available in the areas of ligand synthesis for asymmetric Lewis acid and organometallic catalysis; autocatalytic mechanisms and syntheses; new synthetic directions for organometallic catalysis; mechanism and theory in asymmetric catalysis, and catalytic reactions in supported phases. The Dyson Perrins Laboratory has excellent scientific and information resources for full support of these projects, and the research group has an international outlook with many exchanges and collaborations.
