Obesity research training - from molecules to man.

Objective

ACERO - Doctoral fellowships for Research training in the molecular biology and physiology of energy balance and obesity Aberdeen - UK The Aberdeen Centre for Energy Regulation and Obesity (ACERO) is a cross-institutional research centre located in the city of Aberdeen, Scotland. Four institutions contribute to the activities of ACERO-The Rowett Research Institute, The University of Aberdeen, and the Grampian universities Health Trust and Robert Gordon University. Doctoral training fellowships are now available, funded by the EC as part of the Marie Curie Training site program. These fellowships provide from 3 months to 1 year research training in specific skills that are designed to add value to existing doctoral research programs. Applications are invited from currently registered doctoral research students who wish to broaden their existing research training by acquiring skills in
1. neuroendocrinology
2. Molecular biology of the adipocyte
3. Measurement of whole animal and human energy expenditure
4. Quantification of human feeding behavior and body composition
5. Novel gene discovery using micro-arrays Candidates must be registered in a doctoral degree programme within an EU member or associated state. Candidates may not be from the UK.
