Objective
Description:
Seakeeping and Off shore laboratory. The dimensions, the characteristics of the carriage and wave generator make the category of unique in Europe. Basin dimensions 150m length x 30m width x 5m depth. Hydraulic flap-type wave generator for regular and irregular and 3D wave patterns. Standard instrumentation for hydrodynamic and sea keeping tests of ships and offshore platforms. Computerized planar motion carriage. A 380m calm water tank and a cavitations tunnel complement this lab.
Application:
A call for research proposals each year during the contract. Published in "The Naval Architect", "Infomarine", "Offshore Engineer" or any other of the similar characteristics. Six experts in a Users Selection Panel select the proposals. Selection will be on basis of proposal scientific merit.
