Objective
The Cooperation Network combines some of Europe's most important major laser infrastructures, capable of pushing the laser concept into new directions and opening new application fields for optical sciences and optical technologies. It consists of two subgroups, characterized by distinctly different size of their laser installations (pulse energies on the order of kJ and Joule, respectively). Both subgroups pursue well-specified tasks to improve the quality of access to external users by trans-national and inter-disciplinary cooperation between themselves and with other laboratories, moving towards the concept of a "European Virtual Infrastructure". In addition, they will develop strategies to push laser research and technologies towards new frontiers in their respective areas. The goals will be pursued within the framework of network cooperation, complemented by Topical Workshops, Round Table Meetings and network-wide user meetings.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
