Research and training of young scientists on the magnetic properties of the ³he by means of neutron diffraction

Objective

The optimisation of the conflicting requests for neutron diffraction, ultra-low temperatures and scientific goals leads to a great challenge. The high integration of complementary techniques like neutron diffraction and macroscopic measurements involving pressure and temperature determination at ultra-low temperature provides an excellent ground for the training of young researchers. This is needed because the quality of experimental research and industrial application more and more depends on the ability of using complementary techniques. European research has established a leading role on the field of science and technology at ultra-low temperatures that should be maintained. This project will train young scientists in a relatively short time on diffraction methods, parallel with the use and construction of state-of-the-art cryogenic equipment. The latter, in this specific project, leads to a sound knowledge in material science and to the ability of collecting macroscopic data for strain, pressure, temperature, etc.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
