Genetically modified plant network (GMP NET)

Objective

The network will exchange knowledge and know-how in the area of genetically modified organisms in plants (GMPs). The network will include representatives from various regions of Europe and different expertise backgrounds. The project will take into account both the benefits and limitations of GMPs to our society. Issues will be presented from the scientist, industry, media and ultimately public perspectives. Thus not only scientific but also social, ethical and regulatory issues will be addressed. These will be discussed and presented both within the network and in the public arena, based rarely on the experience of the German Food Biotechnology Communication Initiative (FBCI). The aim of the project is the establishment of a knowledge based trans-European structure to serve interested parties for the purpose of discussing and communicating key issues of GMPs.
