Objective
The project aims at analyzing the impact of visits to important physics laboratories on the lay public, using the results to produce guidelines with a view to improving the communication efficiency of such centers. The project will entail the participation of laboratories that organize on a regular basis a program of public visits - and in particular the staff dedicated to its planning and management - as well as experts in public communication of science and in the evaluation of communication activities at universities and research centers. The project will thus take the form of a research-intervention path, its actors being not only the subjects directly involved in the planning and implementation of communication activities at the laboratories, but also sociologists, psychologists and anthropologists, building a collaboration with the aim to devise best practices for public communication of science performed through direct contact between scientists and the general public on the same premises where the scientists usually do research.
