Physics on stage 3

Objective

Physics on Stage 3' will be a Europe-wide programme of activities and events for physics teachers. Throughout the year 2003, a wide series of national activities will take place across 22 European countries, guided by National Steering Committees. These activities will identify the most motivating physics teaching methods and select the teachers with the most successful tools and innovative ideas for teaching physics. The best of the projects will be brought together during the European Week of Science and Technology 2003, when the project will culminate in a 5-day international festival. Approximately 400 teachers will gather at ESA-ESTEC in Noordwijk, the Netherlands to exchange ideas and best practices and discuss how to interest more young people in physics. There will also be associated activities covering other areas of science, such as biology. A report on the activities, including the recommendations of the teachers will be prepared and an online archive of the educational materials presented will be set up.
