Transformation des structures familiales et évolution des politiques sociales: les services à la petite enfance en europe comme services de cohésion sociale

Objective

In a context of changing family structure, improvement of female professional participation in the labour force, lack of socialisation of the most disadvantaged young children, creation of new jobs in care and personal social services, the different ways of child care services development in each European country is a key issue. This research proposal aims at achieving a comparative analysis of social policies in 8 European countries to understand how European Welfare regimes take into account social cohesion produced by childcare local services. Defining a common European typology of social policies related to innovation in the field of child care, assessing the social cohesion impact of these services throughout empirical cases studies and elaborating recommendations for policy makers will be the three main objectives of this research.
