Objective
The objectives of the project are to identify structural and institutional mechanisms that exist to maintain certain groups of workers peripheral and marginalized to segregate labour markets and to investigate the means for their integration. It involves a cross-national (Britain, Denmark, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands and Spain) and cross-sectored (industry and services) study of marginalisation related to gender, ethnicity and unemployment.
The methodology consists of quantitative statistical analysis of European and national labour force data together with qualitative research at macro and micro levels (interview and survey based) with relevant institutions and firms.
At national and EU levels f the project is intended to contribute to the promotion of equal opportunities, the breakdown of ethnic and gender segregation, the reduction of unemployment and the integration of non-active/marginalized participants.
