Objective
To change the economy in a way that meets the demand of knowledge-based growth in an era of globalisation is not an easy task, and requires more than good will. Without a deep understanding about how the knowledge based economy works, institutional, policy and market reform intended to bring the economy closer to that goal may easily fail. The project intends to contribute to the knowledge base necessary to guide political action by drawing on the experiences of many research projects that have been carried out in recent years, mainly within the framework of the TSER and IHP programmes . Hence the objective will be to produce a comprehensive overview of the state of the art in the light of recent research and contribute to a synthetic understanding of the role of research and innovation in economic and social change.
