Managing with uncertainty in science policy

Objective

This is a request for support for work to provide practical insights and improved concepts for the science policy decision process. The outcome will be recommendations that improve both European and national funding agencies ^TM management of everyday uncertainty. The project will compare decisions taken in several different European countries and within the EU, and will contribute directly to the development of thinking on the European Research Area. The project will be built around 3 international workshops, and the publications that they produce. A wider European network will be developed through an interactive website, accessible to science policy makers and academics. A further product will be the creation of a longer term Thematic Network to investigate the issues in more depth.
