Objective

Foresight is increasingly used at regional, national and European levels as a strategic policy and planning tool. There is a clear need for a greater contribution to Foresight from the social sciences but so far their contribution has been rather small. This Accompanying Measure will develop a strategic analysis of the evolution of Foresight-related initiatives throughout Europe, with a specific focus on the integration of social and scientific/technological aspects. This analysis will help to deliver more effective socio-economic contributions to Foresight-related RTDI policies in the context of the European Research Area and in the New Framework Research Programme. This project will emphasise the different perspectives of social and patellar scientists/researchers, industry, public/societal groups and policy makers in contributing to Foresight indict, life sciences and enviroment & planning.
