Objective
This project will develop a new generation of indicators of innovation, capable to describe the variety of efforts devoted to technological change and the resulting economic performance, in terms of output and productivity growth, employment patterns and international production. These indicators will be developed at the sect oral level for both manufacturing and service industries, building on the data of the Community Innovation Survey II made available by national statistical sources. The project will make it possible to produce a detailed, systematic, comprehensive and openly accessible database linking innovation indicators to a large set of variables on economic performance. It will lead to detailed analyses of such data and to the development, testing and adoption of a new set of advanced innovation and performance indicators, paying special attention to the needs of European and national policy makers.
