Objective
As part of the Fith Framework programme, and the special activity 'Women and Science", Grenoble City Council, its European partners - Italy , France and Portugal - and its regional partners - CNRS, universities, Academie de l'Isère, Institut Polytechnique National de Grenoble - wish to organise a conference to coincide with International Women's Day, on 8 March 2002. The theme of the conference will be access by women to the production of knowledge. The aim of the conference is to promote and better understand the specific role played by women scientists in southern Europe. It also aims to contribute to thinking on how to improve women's position in research and, in more generally way, to raise the awareness of students and bring scientists closer to citizens.
