MINERVA: VOCATIONAL RETRAINING AS A GUARANTEE OF THE REAL EMANCIPATION OF WOMEN. NEW CONTENTS, ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES, NEW OPPORTUNITIES OF WORK

Objective

- To update vocational training in the sectors of female/male clothing and fashion.
- To grant students (especially women) the innovative skills relevant to a competitive market.
- Cultural development, advanced technical approach.
- Use of computer expert systems.
- Establishment of a four-hour package for special purposes.

MAIN DOMAIN OF INNOVATION:

Innovative pedagogical approaches/methodologies. Use of expert computer systems,with a designing & executive approach aimed at the production of fashion collections. Module based syllabus integrated by extracurricular activities.Vocational seminars.

TARGET GROUP(S):

Young people in initial training/education. Women. 14 to 17 years old, mostly girls.

OPERATING CONTEXT:

Raising qualifications. To offer women a more qualified V.T. in an area so far considered traditional for sex role prejudice.

TECHNOLOGY:

Industrial and materials technologies. Information and communication technologies.

INVOLVEMENT WITH ENTERPRISES:

Training institute-enterprise cooperation.

INVOLVEMENT OF SOCIAL PARTNERS:

Project managed or coordinated by employer's association.

RESULTS:

Transferable models and concepts. An innovative training path for new professional profiles in line with the new needs of the enterprises induced by technology
