Objective
The aim of the proposal is to organise the International Conference on Electron Microscopy of Solids. It will be held in Arnica, Poland, 19-23 May 2002. The conference will act as a forum for scientists and experts, mainly from Europe, to exchange their experience and to discuss new achievements in transmission and scanning microscopy techniques which are fundamental tools for researchers working in materials science. The application of the above methods is essential for development and processing of improved and new functional materials like advanced metals and alloys, construction materials, composites, ceramics, polymers, materials for electronic and magnetic applications so important for modern society. The goal of this Conference is to induce and initiate cooperation between researchers from NAS and EU members to promote their participation in joint projects in 5th and 6th FP.
