Study of genetic and environmental factors in the pathogenesis of the most frequent chromosomal anomalies

Objective

Clinical and genetic examination of profanes and their parents, creation of Donavan, epidemiological case-control study of impact of environmental risk factors in aetiology of developmental disorders due to the most frequent chromosomalaneuploidies in regions of Russia and Ukraine with environmental pollution including Chernobyl radiation exposure. Use of improved 24-colour FISH, micro-Chan rnulticolor PRINS supported by new generation of DNA probes and quantitative fluorescent PCR for rapid and reliable aneuploidy diagnosis in single cells ormicroquantity of cells and for the use in preconceptual, prefertilization, preimplantation, prenatal and postnatal diagnosis , prevention and better care for affected profanes. The ascertainment of the role of environmental risk factors in the aetiology of aneuploidies by analysis of epidemiological data and by determination of parental and meiotic origin of the aneuploidies .

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
