Caspian scientific network

Objective

Problem Solving: The administrative and procedural capabilities for regional, environmental administration and management in the Caspian Region are not uniformly strong. There is also a widespread inability to Scientific expertise and to translate Scientific results for policy makers. The links between science and policy are presently weak and should be strengthened. Objectives:
a) To initiate and establish a co-operative Caspian Sea, trans-national Scientific Network of environmental data & information centres/services within the Caspian Sea countries,
b) To strengthen the quality and service of environmental science and data-management.
c) To develop a Caspian Scientific Information System, based now technologies. Achievement: Quality Status Report on Caspian Sea Environment Data & Information Provision; Caspian Scientific Information System.
