Specialised rtd training course: new materials and technologies for conservation and restoration of cultural heritage of natural fibrous polymers

Objective

There is a urgent need, jointly acknowledged by EU countries and Macs , to preserve and safeguard Cultural Heritage, which cannot be conserved without appropriate knowledge and training. The course intends to work out and face problems concerned with the conservation and restoration of Cultural Heritage consisting of natural fibrous polymers (textiles,books,miniatures,papyri and parchment). The main objective is to provide advanced professional skills in the application of new materials and technologies dealing with this kind of cultural heritage. Such objective will be achieved through theoretical lectures and tutorial laboratory training addressed to technicians and curators of museums, conservators, restorers from Euro-Med Countries.
