Xxxvii coconut technical panel (cocotech) meeting/ international coconut conference (icc) 2000

Objective

APCC, an intergovernmental body, COGENT, a genetic resource network, BUROTROP, an association supported by DG-Research, and the Indian Government, as the host, are joining efforts to organize an international coconut conference which will take place in Chennai, India, on 24 to 28 July 2000. The theme is "Sustainable Coconut Industry in the 21st Century".
Recognized experts in the coconut industry will present the current relevant issues, needs, gaps and opportunities, and challenge participant stakeholders of the world coconut industry from producing and consuming countries to take developmental action. Conclusions and recommendations of the conference shall be translated into proactive policies by national governments and research and development projects to be implemented at the national and international levels.
