Asem green independent power producer (ipp) network

Objective

Independent Power Producers (IPPs) are providing a significant efficiency boost in the European renewable energy business. Considering the favourable climatic conditions for renewable energies and the scarcity of capital for renewable energy projects in developing countries in Southeast Asia, Green IPPs are also a highly promising option to support a sustainable development of the energy sector in this region. The proposed project will establish a network bringing together all relevant stakeholders that can contribute to the success of the Green IPP concept in SE Asia. By bundling and disseminating experiences made in Europe, the awareness with regard to the benefits of Green IPPs for SE Asia will be strengthened. Special attention will be paid to the integration of policy makers from Europe and SE Asia in order to increase their awareness of policy options favouring Green IPPs and to help them to initiate suitable measures.
