Objective
Les données actuelles de la littérature montrent que l'hypertension artérielle constitue aujourd'hui un problème de santé publique majeur en AfriqueSub-Saharienne où elle touche plus de 20% de la population avec la particularitéd'y être précoce, plus sévère et plus fréquente en raison d' influences génétiqueset environnementales. Elle est responsable d'une morbidité et d'une mortalité trèsélevées dues en partie aux difficultés d'accès aux soins, à la carence en matièrede formation continue et d'information, à l'absence de recherche et de directivesrégionales. Le PCEAHFIR, se propose de contribuer à sa manière dans le cadre d'unpartenariat CE-ULB-Afrique Sub-Saharienne à améliorer la qualité de prise encharge des patients par la promotion et la dynamisation de la formation continue, l'information, la recherche et la prévention.
