Creation of the mediterranean link committe on the processing tomato research

Objective

Taking the unique opportunity of an ISHS Symposium in June 2002 in Istanbul (Turkey), AMITOM expects to create and structure a Link Research Committee on the processing tomato industry research in the Mediterranean region. This link Committee requires a critical mass of expertise throughout a broad spectrum of disciplines from seeds breeding to human nutrition, including industrial processing, crop physiology, agronomy, fertile-irrigation management , weed, pest and disease control.... The coordinator asks for the European financial support for organizing the attendance of at least 20 non-European Mediterranean Institutes who could so present their up-dated works and get in touch with the European Research. The mutual benefit of such link committee for all the mediterranean basin is clearly demonstrated in the proposal.
