European-korean seminar: perspectives and challenges for s&t-co-operation in the area of environmental catalysis

Objective

The proposal concerns a Korea-Europe seminar on perspectives offered by catalysis for water and air purification. The context is the long term investigation of sustainable developments. Experts usually notice the strong complementary nature of the S&T expertise of the two parties as well as identical concerns and similar constraints. By convening together industrial and academic groups from both parties, the objective is therefore to define the most important goals of common interest, detect needs for further development, and identify clusters of research projects where cooperative work will be most productive. The basis thus created will foster the proposal of Korea-EU R&D projects and permit identification of funding sources . This general objective matches the goal of the EU and associated European countries with respect to the "International Role of Community Research " and the thematic program "Environment and Sustainable Development" .
