Superconductivity in strongly correlated systems

Objective

The project consists of the theoretical study of the electronic structure and possible pairing mechanisms of high-temperature superconductors.

Special attention will be devoted to the strong electron-electron interactions in these materials. Liquid theory will be considered to study the electronic structure in the normal state several concepts, like the magnetic polaron concept or marginal Fermi. The following possible pairing mechanisms will be investigated: superconductivity via strong antiferromagnetic fluctuations, the excitonic pairing mechanisms and the electron-photon interaction in strongly correlated materials.
