Objective
The aim of this project lies in the preparation, characterization and study of the catalytic properties of zeolites and activated carbons with immobilized and anchored first-row late transition metal complexes with polydentate ligands containing several co-ordination spheres, obtained by Schiff condensation of aldehydes and B-diketones with diamines.
Initially, ter and tetradentate ligands with co-ordination spheres N4, N202, N2S2 will be characterized by spectroscopic (UV-Vis-NIR, Raman, FTIR, EPR, NMR) and electrochemical techniques. The homogeneous catalytic properties of the complexes will also be evaluated.
The heterogenization of homogeneous catalysts will be made on two different supporting surfaces: Y-zeolites and activated carbons or carbon molecular sieves. The resulting materials will be characterized by magnetic methods (EPR and NMR), optical (Raman and infrared spectroscopy), microscopic (TEM, STM, AFM), and thermal methods (DSC, TG and TPD/TPR methods).
The catalytic properties of the new materials will be evaluated in oxidation/reduction of organic molecules and in the activation of small molecules (CO, CO2, CH4, N2, NO).

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
