Experimental and theoretical investigations on phase transitions in new ceramic oxides

Objective

This research project centres mainly on the general theme of structural, electronic and magnetic phase transitions in the new superconducting oxides of Y-Ba-Cu-O systems (123 systems). Different methods of measurements could be used such as low-temperature adiabatic calorimetry, tensimetry, mass-spectroscopy, conductivity and magnetic electrical and thermoelectric as well as computer simulation. Theoretical considerations and spectroscopic investigation will accompany the development of this project.

The problem of the crucial role of oxygen stoichiometry and of the order in the basal plane of the structure of 123 superconducting compounds will be also investigated. This study will consider pairs of samples prepared at the same oxygen content by a new technique of equalization of intrinsic oxygen between the fully oxygenated superconducting phase and the fully reduced antiferromagnetic-insulating one.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
