Objective
The structure of the DNA fragment in different crystal forms can be quite different and can even belong to different double-helical families. Therefore a crystal DNA structure can strongly depend on the environment.
The objective of this project is to study the structure of various DNA fragments in different environments (in different crystal forms) including the complexes with proteins. The environmental effects on the DNA structure with 3 crystal forms of the hexamer CGCGCG and 3 crystal forms of the tetramer CCGG will be investigated. The DNA structure in unspecific cro-DNA complexes will be compared with the operator structure in specific cro-DNA complex. These investigations will give new data about the structural abilities of the double-helix.
