Ring-functionalized cyclopentadienyl complexes of early transition metals: preparation and application in organic synthesis and homogeneous catalysis

Objective

This research project will be devoted to the preparation and all-round investigation as well as application in organic synthesis and homogeneous catalysis of various ring substituted cyclopentadienyl complexes, mainly of early transition metals.

The general types of the complexes which will be considered are: racemic monometallic complexes with further application as catalysts of a-olefins polymerization and co-polymerization; bimetallic complexes based on both the bis-cyclopentadienyl ligands and cyclopentadienyl-phosphorylated ligands with further application as catalysts of small molecules activation, hydroformylation and related processes; and various complexes containing an active function (-Me2SiCl, -PCl2, -P(O)Cl2 etc.) on the cyclopentadienyl ring with further use in organic synthesis and for creation of some supramolecular systems by incorporation of metallocenes fragments into complex organic molecules.
