Objective
Inter-ring haptotropic rearrangement (IRHR) and richochet IRHRs, which are the fundamental phenomena in the chemistry of transition metal complexes with polycyclic aromatic and hydroaromatic ligands, will be studied in detail for transition complexes (including bis-arene and bimetallic complexes) of substituted heptalenes, Vogels' 1,6-methano[10]-annulenes, fluorenes, phenalenes and related systems using X-ray, NMR and other spectroscopy and kinetic measurements. General regularities of IRHRs and RIRHRs and other dynamic and fluxional processes in such complexes, including mechanisms, structures of intermediates, effect of ligands geometry and dynamics, will be determined. A large number of new complexes will be prepared and their spectroscopic properties (NMR, ESR) and electrochemical behaviour, as well as new examples of IRHRs and RIRHRs in them, will be investigated.
The dynamic processes under investigation could be classified in some cases as models for the key steps of important catalytic reactions. That is why the study of the general regularities is a problem of wider interest than simply the study of new types of chemical reactions.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
