Isotopically pure superperfect single crystals of semiconductors Ge, Si and ZnSe as a basis for development of isotopic solid-state physics

Objective

A set of physical phenomena will be studied in isotopically modified perfect single crystals. Thermal conductivity, thermal electromotive force and thermal expansion will be measured in Ge, Si and ZnSe in the temperature range of 2-300 K. We will also analyse spin-lattice relaxation rates for nuclear magnetic resonance on 73Ge and 67Zn, the Raman effect on the same crystals and we will perform highly precise neutron and X-ray diffraction patterns. All of these effects influence with high sensitivity the properties of the phonon system of a crystal and, therefore, will provide together complementary information on their pliarities and the role of isotopic disorder in the phenomena under analysis.
